24 September 2011 - "Fiestas Patrias - Chile's National Day Dinner"
The Consulate General of Chile in Sydney and the Australia-Chile Chamber of Commerce invited members and supporters to the Chilean National Day Celebration Dinner on Saturday 24 September 2011. It was an extremely successful and well attended event. We would like to thank all those who attended for their support. The two day conference brought senior representatives from the government and the private sector in search of opportunities to strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
The conference highlighted business opportunities between Chile and Australia and shared some of the successful investment stories in the two countries. This event aimed to facilitate networking with key decision makers from some of Chile's most successful companies, the government and industry bodies.

On the morning of February 27th, 2010, Chile’s Central Valley was hit by an 8.8 earthquake and tsunami. That day, Constitucion, a small lumber town by the ocean, was changed forever. News media around the world focused their attention on the city and its people, turning the inhabitants of the Maule Valley, called “Mauchos”, into the protagonists of a difficult reconstruction process. This is a story of how they started to rebuild their lives and began the return to the ocean.
